Prof. Dr. Yang Li studied Nanotoxicology with a Master degree in Physiology in China, and followed a PhD degree in Immunology/Nanoscience in Europe. He then moved to USA for his post-doctoral training on nano-immune interactions at the Nanotechnology Innovation Center of the Kansas State University, and on tumor immunology at the University of Colorado. He moved back to China as a principal investigator at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science in 2018. His group is now focusing on understanding the basis and mechanism of the nano-bio/immuno interactions and how these interactions modulate the immunological responses. With such basic information, his group is trying to develop efficient nano-formulated medicine to treat infectious/inflammatory diseases and cancer.
Prof. Li has published over 50 scientific publications including Nature Nanotechnology (2021, 2022), Biomaterials, etc. He awarded the “First Prize of Natural Science in Hebei Province”, “Marie Curie Fellowship of European Commission” and “Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad”. Currently, his research team is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of of Guangdong Province, and funds from Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.
